One of my favourite images from our trip to the Aran Islands in August. It captures the essence of the islands so well. The islands are covered in stone walls, built to clear the land from all the stones. The unique landscape and the fact that the Aran islands have preserved a lot of the authentic Irish spirit and language make them a very special place to visit. Their relative remoteness has kept them from being too commercialised and modernised like the rest of Ireland. If you are looking for a glimpse into Ireland’s past, the Aran islands are the closest you can get.
